Mele – Removed default
Mele is a homeowner who lives in Sydney and has owned her home for several years. She wanted to loan her children some money to help them buy their first home, and she was refinancing her existing mortgage to accomplish this.
Upon visiting with her mortgage broker, she found that she had a default listing on her credit report. The default listing was with Optus a telecom provider, which Mele promptly paid. Unfortunately, paying a default does not remove it from your report, so she reached out to us for assistance.
Outcome
We reached out to the credit provider to have the default removed, and they were very cooperative about it. Following the removal of the default listing, Mele was able to proceed and refinance her home mortgage.
