Peter – Removed defaults, increased Credit Score from the 300s to 720
Peter was referred by a mortgage broker who was trying to help him regain control of his life. Unfortunately, he was injured in the workplace as a truck driver—badly enough that he could no longer work and lift things. Despite being unable to work, as a self-employed individual, he was not covered under worker’s compensation.
Unable to work and without compensation, he defaulted on his truck and could not pay his Buy Now Pay Later service on time. Being quite depressed about the whole situation, Peter couldn’t see a way out and buried his head in the sand. It is a natural reaction, but it didn’t help his situation any.
When he has recovered from his injury, Peter reached out to us to try and get back into a position where he would be able to lease a truck again.
Outcome
We worked to remove the default and the Buy Not Pay Later information removed from Peter’s credit report. In addition, we negotiated with his creditors to work out a payment plan for his outstanding debt.
From a credit score in the 300s, we have raised Peter’s credit score to 720. Today, Peter has obtained a new truck, gotten back into work, and started earning money.
